Mental & Spiritual Health Work Group

The Mental and Spiritual Health Work Group comprises of mental healthcare practitioners as well as pastors, ministers, chaplains, and other clergy who work in partnership with one another to help the disaster-affected community recover their mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Once the basic needs are restored and lives get back to normal, it is not uncommon for people to experience intense feelings related to going through a disaster.  For many people these changes are mild and short lived.  For others, it can become really challenging to deal with everyday life in the months following a disaster.  The Mental & Spiritual Health Work Group has a dedicated phone line to connect people with resources that can be helpful with getting lives back on track.

Fort Bend Recovers is offering FREE emotional support sessions for Fort Bend County residents who were affected by Harvey or the floods of 2016. Please call the Mental & Spiritual Health Helpline to set up an appointment.
