Donate and Volunteer Wisely

The public support and generosity during and after Hurricane Harvey has made a tremendous impact on the residents of Fort Bend County.  Substantial lifesaving donations have been made throughout this incident however, as we progress through the recovery process, donation and volunteer needs will change.  Therefore, we ask that you donate and volunteer wisely.

Donate Wisely

The most effective way to support disaster survivors’ recovery is to make tax-deductible cash donations to trusted voluntary-, faith- and community-based charitable organizations. This gives them the ability to purchase, or provide vouchers for, what survivors actually need (FEMA).

If you would like to donate items, check out a list of acceptable donation items and locations here.  Always check with the organization that is accepting donations to ensure they have adequate need and spacing before donating.

Volunteer Wisely

Volunteering provides enormous help to the community, but spontaneous or unaffiliated volunteering can cause difficulties for volunteer organizations, residents who need help, and you.  Volunteer wisely by registering before you volunteer.
